Going East
The new millennium saw H.G. Molenaar enter both the North American and Asian markets. Its first Asian contract installed an exhaust box, Continuous Rotary Sterilizer, palletizers and conveyors for Siam Foods in Thailand — followed by several more sterilizer orders.
The world’s largest-diameter cooker and cooler. In early 2001, Pacific Coast Producers (PCP) of California contracted H.G. Molenaar to install a complete canning line for peaches and apricots — including the largest-diameter cooker and cooler in the world, 3.2 metres across and more than 12 metres long. A year later came H.G. Molenaar’s first pressure cooker into the United States, and in 2001 the company was accredited by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) to build pressure vessels for the North American market.
H.G. Molenaar also expanded its representation of foreign businesses in South Africa — taking on Compac fruit-sorting equipment in 2003 (today the local market leader) and Brown International citrus-juice processing equipment in 2007.
In 2005 Cor retired and handed the role of Managing Director to his son, Stefan, assuming the chairmanship. In 2007 the company entered barrier-plastic packaging, and in early 2008 founded Molenaar USA to promote and service its products throughout the Americas.
